The ventilation air handling units have been served via chilled water and heating coils which have been connected to the existing mains hospital services which required an out of hours shutdown.. Also, within the contract we replaced the Day Surgery AHU which needed to be replaced out of normal working hours. During the process of keeping the existing Day Surgery running, the existing Day Surgery side had to temporarily connected to the existing AHU system to enable ventilation to continuously provide air to the patient area. The ventilation changeovers had to be carried out on weekends. Both the air handling units had to be broken down and flat packed. The flat packed sections were carried up to the plantroom and placed into position ready to be built by the manufacturer. The air handling unit was air tested and commissioned to L2 HTM standards and the ventilation is commissioned to the latest HTM standards including room pressures.
