Before the project started, we agreed to carry out the works on an open book basis which we agreed on a cost plus agreement plus on schedule of rates for first fix items.. As part of the contract we provided a Mechanical and Electrical package for the scheme to the main contractor. Due to the nature of the project, as well as being on a compressed time frame the area being worked in had not been refurbished or touched in over 20 years! This involved taking a lot of the design principles and using our experience to adapt to the local environment. We extended the LTHW heating, domestics and drainage to the specialist consulting rooms. New sanitaryware including specialist podiatry sinks within the relevant rooms were installed. A new set of heat recovery systems and extract systems were installed. The ventilation system was installed with a smoke damper system with a central control panel.
The electrical works involved new systems extended from the existing CRI supplies. New IT services, fire/smoke detection, security and Nurse call systems were installed in the area.
The project was handed over on programme and commissioned to the client.
