Urology UHW

The project was completed in a compressed time frame due to the patients being moved in at short notice.  This involved a new extension onto the existing Urology department in the University Hospital of Wales Hospital.

The hot & cold services and drainage services were renewed from the existing supplies and fed to the new decontamination room, Theatre and wash hand basins throughout the ward. The heating was extended within the ward to the new LST radiators. New medical gases was installed in the Theatre from the existing system.

Two new Air Handling Units have been installed which are custom built flatpack units carried across from front entrance and taken across to the positions as no crane was available to carry the units due to the location of the department. The units are provided with electric heating from the new BMS Panel and are controlled via the site BMS. The units have been installed with new cooling condensers to maintain temperature within the theatre and decontamination room.

The project was handed over on time which involved numerous weekend working to ensure the project was handed over.
